The Role Is Narrower Than $249 Makes It Sound
Honest registered agent representation in Nebraska for $99/year. Includes the address used on filings, same-day scanning of legal mail, and reminders for state deadlines.
You are reading a competitor's page. NE Registered Agent.org would like to be your Nebraska agent, and we charge $99 a year for the work. The LegalZoom pricing quoted here came from a July 2026 review of the company's published rates.
The Brand Is a Real Asset
Give LegalZoom the thing it genuinely owns: recognition. For a first-time owner who has never dealt with a state filing office, hiring the name everyone has heard of removes a category of worry that cheaper providers cannot remove. One account, one login, a company that has been in business a long time. That is worth something, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.
What it costs is $249 a year, flat, on automatic renewal. Our July 2026 pass found no introductory reduction anywhere, which at least makes the pricing consistent: year one and year nine bill the same.
What Nebraska Is Actually Asking You to Appoint
Open the Nebraska Uniform Limited Liability Company Act at Neb. Rev. Stat. § 21-113 and the vocabulary shifts under your feet. Nebraska did not adopt the model registered agent legislation that many states run on. Its provisions are the uniform LLC act's own, and the act names an agent for service of process. The Secretary of State's forms translate that back into the familiar phrase, which is why every guide you have read says registered agent while the statute says something else.
The duties attached to the role are short enough to list on a napkin. Keep a Nebraska street address on file, where a PO box may sit alongside but never in place of the street line. Be reachable during ordinary business hours. Pass along what arrives. The company must also maintain a designated office inside Nebraska, which the act expressly says need not be a place where the business does anything at all.
That is the entire statutory job. A $249 provider and a $99 provider owe Nebraska the identical list.
The Difference, Multiplied Out

Order HereOne hundred fifty dollars separates the two annual prices. Across one Nebraska report cycle, which runs two years because the state collects reports only in odd-numbered years, the gap is $300. Across a decade it is $1,500, which is more than Nebraska will charge that same LLC in report fees over the next sixty years.
One caution against reading the above as a cheapest-in-state boast. A rate of $90 is published by BetterLegal, which puts them under us. We describe our own figure as near the bottom of the Nebraska range rather than at it, and the part we will defend is that it never changes shape at renewal.
What Your $99 Buys From Us
For $99 a year you get a compliant Nebraska street address on the public record, business-hours coverage at that address, and a scanning promise with a deadline attached: anything a process server hands us is imaged and emailed before the day ends. Response clocks in a lawsuit start at delivery, not at the moment you happen to check the mail, which is the whole reason speed on this one task matters more than any other feature a vendor can sell you.
Add compliance reminders ahead of Nebraska's odd-year window, an archive in the portal covering everything that has come through our door with your name on it, and a checkout screen that offers one service instead of a menu. Renewal reads $99. It will read $99 next time too.
Leaving LegalZoom Behind in Nebraska
Nebraska's exit is one statement lodged with Business Services, the corporate desk at the Secretary of State's office, priced at $25 electronically once the small portal charge is added and $30 for a written filing, with no form number to track down; our change of agent page walks it field by field.
The rule not to improvise on is the order of operations. Line up the replacement before the statement is submitted, because your outgoing agent keeps the role until the state records the new one. Done that way, the handoff happens on a single date instead of across a gap, and there is never a moment when nobody in Nebraska is authorized to accept a summons for you.
Recognition Versus Arithmetic
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereNobody switches agents because a brand disappointed them. They switch because $249 a year, renewing automatically, eventually stops matching what the service does: hold an address, answer the door, forward the mail. If that description sounds like your situation, the move takes one filing and Nebraska's $25.
