Nebraska Asks for Two Fixtures. A Subscription Is Neither.
Honest registered agent representation in Nebraska for $99/year. Includes the address used on filings, same-day scanning of legal mail, and reminders for state deadlines.
Whose page is this? NE Registered Agent.org's, and we want the business at $99 a year. That admission belongs up here rather than buried under a thousand words of comparison. The Rocket Lawyer figures used below were taken from their published rates in July 2026.
Start With What Rocket Lawyer Does Right
The price is honest and it behaves. Registered agent service costs $125 a year, and that figure holds identical at every membership level the company sells. No introductory rate engineered to expire, no tier where the same service quietly costs more. In an industry full of first-year theater, a number that stays put deserves saying out loud.
The platform is real too. Document templates, attorney consultations, a library of business forms. A company that opens that dashboard monthly is getting value that no standalone agent service can match, and if you are that company, this page is probably not for you.
What Nebraska Requires In-State, In Full
The list is shorter than most owners expect. Nebraska asks a limited liability company to maintain two fixtures inside the state continuously, and only two.
The first is a designated office. The statute is unusually blunt about what this can be: the office does not have to be somewhere the business actually operates. It is an address of record, nothing more.
The second is an agent to receive service of process, meaning a person or company able to accept lawsuits and official notices on the entity's behalf. The agent has to be a Nebraska resident, or else an outfit that already holds authority to do business here, and the filing has to show a Nebraska street address for them.
| What Nebraska requires | What satisfies it |
|---|---|
| A designated office in Nebraska | An in-state address, activity not required |
| An agent for service of process | A Nebraska resident or an entity authorized here |
| A street address for that agent | Nebraska street line; PO box may be added, not substituted |
| Document templates and legal advice | Not required by the state at all |
Nothing in Nebraska law asks for a legal subscription. The fourth row is a product decision, not a compliance one, and the question a buyer should ask is whether their own use of it justifies the slice of $125 it represents.
Twenty-Six Dollars a Year, Measured Honestly
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereRocket Lawyer at $125 against our $99 is a $26 annual difference, and we are not going to inflate it. Over one Nebraska report cycle it is $52. Over ten years it is $260. That is a modest sum, which is precisely why the comparison should be about structure rather than savings: if you use the platform, $26 is nothing; if you never open it, you are renting shelf space in a building you do not visit.
A qualification is owed here. Somebody in this industry does print a smaller yearly rate than $99, and it is BetterLegal at $90. Our claim is only that $99 belongs to the low end of the Nebraska field and stays there through every renewal.
How to Change From Rocket Lawyer to Us in Nebraska
Nebraska handles this with a single filing, made under Neb. Rev. Stat. § 21-114, and it takes four steps.
- Appoint first. Get the incoming agent signed on and holding a valid Nebraska street address before anything reaches the state. Rocket Lawyer remains your agent of record until the new filing is processed, so doing it in this order means the appointment transfers on one date with no interval where your company sits unrepresented.
- Prepare the change statement. This is Nebraska's all-purpose document for updating office and agent details, and a Nebraska LLC uses the domestic edition of it. The entity name goes in exactly as the Secretary of State recorded it. There is no form number; Nebraska assigns none.
- File with the Business Services Division. Electronic filings cost $25 plus a small portal charge. Filings delivered in writing cost $30. Current documents and the whole Nebraska fee list are posted on the forms and fee information page.
- Verify, then cancel. Watch for the public record to show the new agent, and only afterward end the Rocket Lawyer subscription. Reversing those two actions is the one way to create a gap.
Worth knowing before you plan around it: Nebraska's biennial report cannot carry an agent change. Some states allow it. This one routes every agent and office update through the change statement, whenever it happens.
The Narrow Product, Priced Narrowly
Ninety-nine dollars a year buys a Nebraska address on your filings, business-hours presence behind it, documents imaged and sent on the date of delivery, alerts before the odd-year report window, and portal access to the whole file. No consultations, no template library, no tiers. If the agent function is the only part of the bundle you were using, this is what it costs on its own.
